Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Nights (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7 PM to 7 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 48 hours

Job Description

• Work in a Level I Trauma Center, Short Term Acute Care hospital setting.
• Patient ratio approximately 1:7 with team nursing support including PCC and other RNs.
• On-call and weekend shifts required as needed.
• Strict 100-mile radius rule for travel nurses; local candidates not accepted.
• No block scheduling except possible weekend blocks.
• First-time travelers accepted only if they have 3+ years of recent experience.
• Level I Trauma experience and large hospital experience required.
• Prior travel experience is required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Work Environment & Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs for RNs.
• No prints or embroidered scrubs allowed.
• Business casual with white lab coat for RN Case Managers.
• Strict adherence to facility policies and procedures.

Additional Notes

• Start date: ASAP.
• All requested time-off (RTO) must be submitted with application; no changes after offer.
• Large hospital and trauma center experience mandatory.
• Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers without 3+ years recent experience will not be considered.

This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical RNs with trauma center background seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity hospital setting on night shifts.
