Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Nights)

Job Description

• Work on an Adaptive Acuity Unit with occasional assignment to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) care at a 3:1 patient ratio (non-negotiable).
• Patient-to-nurse ratio typically 1:5 on a 25-bed unit.
• Must be willing to float to any inpatient unit within scope of practice.
• Drip experience required, including insulin, esmolol, and sodium drips.
• Charge nurse experience is required and mandatory for this assignment.
• No 48-hour guarantee available.
• Requested time off (RTO) during the assignment must be submitted and approved at time of application; no more than 5 days allowed.
• Travelers must have voicemail set up and be reachable by the facility.
• Own vehicle required for this assignment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of current Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience.
• Charge nurse experience required.
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience strongly required.
• Drip experience required.
• Minimum 3 months previous travel nursing experience required (non-negotiable).
• Vermont RN license or Compact RN license valid in Vermont.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Active American Heart Association ACLS certification.
• Skills checklists current to within 1 year for:

  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Medical Surgical (Med Surg)
  • Telemetry (Tele)
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• ICU experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in small critical access facilities preferred.

Additional Information

• Non-billable orientation hours: 0.
• Holiday multiplier: 1.25%.
• Overtime worked at regular rate (no multiplier).
• Call and call-back not applicable.
• All scheduling requests must be made at time of application; no requests accepted after offer or during interview.
• Facility is a 25-bed critical access hospital offering a range of inpatient and outpatient services.

This position requires a highly adaptable nurse with strong critical care and charge experience, comfortable working nights in a small hospital setting with a variety of acuity levels.
