Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry (Days) (Temporary)
Location
- Des Moines, Iowa
Contract Length
- 13 weeks (with willingness to extend beyond initial assignment)
Unit and Patient Care Information
- Patient types: All types of medical-surgical care
- Patient ratios: 4-5 patients per nurse
- Bed size: 15 beds
- Drips: Heparin administration required
- Telemetry: Remote telemetry monitoring
- Scrubs: Navy blue, solids
- Float requirement: Must be willing to float across multiple campuses within the system
Work Schedule and Holiday Requirements
- Shift: Days
- Work 36-40 hours/week with overtime billable after 40 hours
- Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Skills in telemetry/cardiac nursing
- Recent charge nurse experience
- Recent precepting experience
- Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months
Additional Information
- Orientation date: August 17
- Must be open and willing to extend beyond the initial 13-week assignment
- Strong adaptability and teamwork mindset required to support unit growth and community needs
