Registered Nurse - Critical Care (ICU) - Night Shift

Location: Aurora, Illinois
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:30 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Float: Between ICU and Telemetry units

Job Summary

• Provide direct patient care in critical care and telemetry settings using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Responsible for safe patient care, hemodynamic monitoring, interpreting diagnostic results, and responding quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Guide patient/family education and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 1 year of Critical Care Float experience within the last year.
• Experience in an Acute Care setting.
• Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Telemetry units.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Completion of NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Completion of Workplace Violence Prevention training (DCI/BVP).
• Valid Driver's License.

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Must pass the following exams with a minimum score of 80%:

  • Basic Pharmacology Exam
  • Specialty Exam
  • Core Competencies Exam
• Drug screening (minimum 10-panel including THC) within 60 days of start.
• Annual fit test for respirator masks (must be completed prior to start).
• Proof of immunizations or immunity for:

  • COVID-19 (2 vaccines + booster or declination)
  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (3 immunizations, immune titer, or declination)
  • Influenza vaccine or declination (seasonal requirement)
  • Varicella (vaccination or immunity titer)
  • Tdap (declination not accepted in some states)
• Tuberculosis (TB) test within one year of start date and annual TB questionnaire.
• Physical/Health statement confirming clearance to work (annual).
• National criminal background check within one year of start date.
• Social Security Card or Passport for identity verification.
• Recent resume reflecting accurate and current work history.
• Two professional references required (one must be from a manager or direct supervisor).
• Signed job description within the past year.
• Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9) or agency attestation.
• Badge photo (clear headshot with plain background).
• Completion of onboarding education attestation prior to clearance to start.

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
