Registered Nurse (PCU/Stepdown) - Council Bluffs, Iowa
Contract Details
- Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights
- Hours per shift: 12 hours
- Hours per week: 36 hours
- Scheduling: Cyclic scheduling with shifts 06:30-19:00 and 18:30-07:00
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: 1 major and 1 minor holiday
- Orientation: One 12-hour shift on the unit
Unit and Patient Population
- Unit type: Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown)

Required Certifications and Qualifications
- Current RN license
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Must pass a skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90% (open book, resources provided)
Additional Requirements and Policies
- Must have a valid driver’s license at time of application (used to verify candidate is within 50-mile radius)
- Candidates cannot be currently or recently employed (full time, part time, or PRN) within the past year at any facility associated with certain large healthcare systems within 50 miles
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply results in contract termination
- Fast-paced environment requiring positive attitude, teamwork, and patient-centered care
