Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room Tech

Location: Dickinson, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shifts, 9 hours per day (typically Monday-Thursday)
Hours per Week: 36 hours


Job Details

  • Work in Operating Room with 6 OR suites and 1 GI suite
  • Common cases include Adult, Pediatric, Geriatric, Obstetric surgeries
  • Procedures involve Orthopedics (Total Joints, ORIF, Arthroscopy), OB/GYN (Cesarean Section, LAVH, D&C, Diagnostic Laparoscopy), and General Surgery (Laparoscopic Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Exploratory Laparotomy)
  • Use of equipment such as C-arm, Mako robot, Ligasure, and Harmonic Scalpel
  • Familiarity with total joint replacements and C-sections required; experience with Mako robot is a plus
  • No manager or charge nurse on each shift
  • Team/self-scheduling available
  • Call requirements: 1-2 call shifts per week (end of shift until 7:00 AM next day), 1 weekend call per month (Friday 7:00 AM to Monday 7:00 AM), and holiday on-call
  • Floating is rare and only with prior training in other areas
  • Scrub color and dress code provided
  • Orientation: 1-2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license valid in North Dakota
  • BLS Certification required
  • ND UAP certification required; CST or NCCT preferred
  • No clinical involvement required for this role
  • Must pass fit testing (3M Aura 1860 or 1870+); facial hair may disqualify due to inability to pass fit test or use PAPR

Additional Information

  • Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and may not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with certain large healthcare systems
  • Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals after submission
  • Shifts are subject to change with notice and may include Fridays
  • Minimum call shifts: 7 per 6-week period, including at least one weekend as specified

This position is ideal for an RN with operating room experience, especially in orthopedic and obstetric procedures, who is comfortable with call responsibilities and working in a team-scheduled environment.
