Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg (Nights)
Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary

Job Details
- Unit: Medical Surgical (Med Surg)
- Bed Size: 22 beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 5:1
- Patient Types: General medical-surgical
- Drips: Heparin
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Float Requirement: Must float across multiple campuses within the system
- EMR System: EPIC
- Workweek: 36-40 hours standard; overtime billable after 40 hours
- Call Back Pay: 1.5x multiplier with 2-hour minimum
- On Call Pay: $9/hour
- Charge/Precept Pay: $6/hour
- Overtime/Holiday Pay: 1.15x multiplier
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Certification in MAB, MOAB, and CPI
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Valid driver’s license
- Previous travel nursing experience within the past 18 months
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system
Preferred Qualifications
- Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
Additional Information
- Orientation date available: August 3
- Radius rule: Candidates within 50 miles preferred
- Employee separation policy restricts certain past employees from travel assignments within the system
- Must be able to work nights and float across multiple campuses
