Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health (Inpatient) – Nights
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care based on the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to coordinate care for individuals and groups.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, including discharge and aftercare planning.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and staff in individual and group settings.
- Document and report all necessary information according to policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report any potential safety risks to physicians.
- Function as a clinical leader by delegating and coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development.
- May serve as charge nurse and be responsible for scheduling, staffing, and training direct care staff.
- Uphold professional standards, promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and demonstrate the organization’s mission and values.
- Provide spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical support to patients in a recovery-focused, person-centered environment.
- Maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in required programmatic training.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Michigan.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral health experience.
- Behavioral health experience within the last year.
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Additional Information
- Opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week with potential for additional shifts (up to 48 hours), though extra shifts are not guaranteed.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- May function as charge nurse with responsibility for staff oversight and coordination.
