Registered Nurse (Medical/Surgical/Telemetry) - Long Term Assignment

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units.
• Work primarily night shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in Neurology

Health and Safety Requirements

• Fit test for respiratory protection.
• 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC).
• COVID-19 vaccination proof including booster or approved exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
• Proof of MMR vaccination or immunity.
• Hepatitis B vaccination series must be started prior to assignment.
• Influenza vaccine proof or declination (optional).
• 2-step PPD or IGRA TB test; if positive, chest x-ray per regional requirements.
• Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
• Current physical/health statement confirming fitness to work.
• Current TDAP vaccine or declination if no pediatric interaction.

Professional and Compliance Requirements

• Signed Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Integrity and Audit Services Form.
• Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county) within 30 days of start.
• Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma.
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion checks within 30 days.
• Joint Commission CORE exam within the last year.
• NSO (National Sex Offender) check within 30 days.
• System Access Form completed and uploaded one week before start.
• Specialty skills checklist provided by agency.
• Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training (Iowa only).
• Iowa-specific criminal history, sex offender, and abuse registry checks within 30 days.
• OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) sanctions screening within 30 days.

Submission Requirements

• Resume and skills checklist within the last year.
• Two professional references.

This position requires adherence to all licensure, certification, health, and compliance standards prior to onboarding.
