Description

Respiratory Therapist - Omaha, Nebraska

Job Details

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Nights
  • Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
  • Patient Population: All ages (neonates to geriatrics)
  • Work Setting: Inpatient, covering all areas and floors
  • Scheduling: Team scheduling; weekend coverage every third day (days) and every other night; holiday rotation with permanent staff
  • Orientation: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, unit/department specific
  • Floating: Required to float to different hospital areas within RT capacity
  • Support: Respiratory Lead Therapist on each shift; not the only RT in-house; hospitalist or intensivist available 24/7

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
  • Recent Level 1 or Level 2 experience required
  • Experience with EKGs, bedside bronchoscopies, and bedside spirometry
  • Driver’s license required at time of application (used to verify candidate is within 50-mile radius)
  • Must comply with fingernail policy: artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas

Equipment Experience

  • Ventilators: Drager, Servo I, Carefusion (Heliox and NICU use only)
  • Bipap: Vision, V60, V30, Respironics S/T
  • High Flow: Airvo2

Additional Information

  • Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and may not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with certain healthcare systems
  • Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals
  • Key attributes for success: time management, flexibility, adaptability, communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn
