Cardiovascular Technician (Cath Lab Tech) - Texas

Job Details

• Location: Mesquite, Texas (floating between two nearby facilities)
• Shift: Days, approximately 06:30 AM to 3:00 PM (flexible schedule)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
• On-Call: Yes, rotating call 12-15 days per month including every other weekend

  • Call hours: Monday-Friday 3:00 PM - 6:30 AM, Weekends 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM (24 hours)
• Patient Population: Includes COVID-19 patients
• Charting System: Epic
• Scrubs: Any color allowed; hospital provides scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ARRT or RCIS certification
• Valid Driver’s License

Health and Compliance Requirements (Must be current or completed prior to start)

• COVID-19 vaccination: 2 doses plus booster or documented declination
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive immunity titer
• Hepatitis B: Record of 3 immunizations, immune titer, or declination accepted
• Influenza vaccine or declination (required seasonally)
• TB test within 1 year of start date
• Varicella vaccination or immunity titer
• Tdap vaccination (declinations may not be accepted in some states)
• Drug screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC (within 60 days of start)
• National criminal background check within 1 year of start date (state-specific timing requirements apply)
• Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)

Testing and Competency

• Must pass Core Competencies Exam with a score of 80% or higher
• Must pass Specialty Exam with a score of 80% or higher
• Skills checklist completion required

Additional Information

• Annual color-blind test required (Relias accepted)
• Fit test completed onsite during orientation (optional)
• Name verification affidavit required if there are discrepancies between credentials
• Agency attestation and other onboarding documents required prior to start

This position requires flexibility to float between two facilities and readiness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule. The role involves working with COVID-19 patients and requires proficiency with Epic electronic health records.
