• Evenings, 12-hour shifts

Hours

• 72 hours per week

Unit Overview

• 29-bed adult medical-surgical unit
• Common patient populations include orthopedic trauma, vascular, urology, neuro-spine, OBGYN oncology, and acute medical patients

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Clinical Responsibilities

• Titrate drips using a prescribed nomogram
• Manage heparin and occasional nitro, bivalirudin, cardizem, and insulin drips
• Float to other adult medical/surgical nursing units

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• No call or standby
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• Telemetry techs monitor strips; RN does not need to read strips

Unit Support

• Nursing assistants are present
• RT support is present
• No ventilators on the unit

Orientation

• 1 day of computer training
• 1-2 precepted floor orientation

Dress Code

• Any color, clean and professional

Additional Notes

• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• If the clinician has ever worked for this facility before, there must be an end date at least 6 months before submission
