Physical Therapist - Inpatient
Location: Bryan, Texas
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Setting: Inpatient acute care (Level III trauma center)
- Patient Population: Mostly adults and older teens; common diagnoses include trauma, telemetry, ortho, surgical, critical care, neuro, oncology, and general medical cases
- Typical Caseload:
- Expectation of 1 completed evaluation per hour
- If providing daily treatments, expectation is 10 completed treatments in an 8-hour shift
- Shifts:
- Days, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Alternating weekends required with a compensatory day off during the week
- Call: No call requirement
- Coverage Area: Primarily Bryan acute care hospital; minimal coverage at nearby acute care hospital possible
- Orientation: 3-5 days floor-specific orientation including hospital procedures, EMR (Meditech), and protocols, depending on acute care experience
- Team Support: Rehab aides, PT assistants, and techs available (average staff includes 5 PTAs and 2-3 techs)
- Uniform: Maroon scrubs
- Holidays: Alternating holidays off
Required Qualifications
- Physical Therapy license valid in Texas
- BLS Certification required
- New graduates accepted if they have strong adult acute clinical experience including trauma and critical care
- Candidates must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any related facility within the past year, except PRN through outside firms
Additional Information
- Call-outs are strongly discouraged and may lead to termination
- May be asked to precept new staff as needed
- Legal name on application must match government-issued ID (no middle initials or names)

- No pediatric patients except rare older teens from trauma cases
