- Nights
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- 2 years of RN experience
- 1 year of unit experience
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Driver’s license required at submittal
Unit Details
- PCU
- Adults and geriatrics
- Cardiac, nephrology, stroke, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring patients
- 35 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5
- Titration of drips required
- Common drips include Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications
- Charge nurse on each shift
- Nursing assistants/patient care techs support the unit
- Floating may be required to medical floors, ICU, or rehab
Schedule
- Every other weekend
- Every third holiday
- No call or standby
Orientation
- First week onboarding, then 1-2 days of unit orientation
Additional Notes
- Fast-paced unit
- Positive attitude, teamwork, good communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving are important
- Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
- RTO must be submitted upfront; up to 7 days allowed for a 13-week contract
- Candidate must live outside 50 miles
- Candidate may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit
