Job Summary
Assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions without surgery. This role is suitable for those gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology or experienced imaging professionals starting a career in this discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist providers during procedures such as cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography, device implantation, biopsies, thrombectomy, embolization, and pain management.
- Use specialized radiologic equipment and techniques for diagnostic, interventional, and invasive procedures.
- Maintain sterile fields and adhere to safety protocols.
- Prepare patients for procedures and provide comfort.
- Act as a scrub tech during procedures.
- Respond to patient and family inquiries regarding diagnostic testing and results.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure exceptional patient care.
- Conduct post-procedure quality reviews and ensure documentation meets standards.
- Transfer images and data to electronic health systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
- Perform equipment quality control, cleaning, and maintenance per guidelines.
- Assist with quality assurance, audits, and performance improvement tasks.
- Provide on-call clinical coverage on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
- Support academic partnerships by teaching radiologic students and mentoring new team members.
- Assist with onboarding new staff.
Work Schedule
- 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (4x10 shifts)
- 40 hours per week
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- No travel or trauma cases required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Oklahoma
- Interventional Radiology Technologist (1 year of experience)
- Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- Graduate of a post-secondary educational program in health science such as cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, or paramedic/EMT, or completion of a JRCERT accredited military educational program
