Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts (7a–7p and 10a–10p), every 3rd weekend, rotational holidays
Hours per Week: 32

Role Overview

Provide nursing care for emergency department patients across the lifespan, including triage, direct patient care, documentation, coordination with other disciplines, and response to urgent or high-stress situations.

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• TNCC

Preferred Qualifications

• Four-year degree in nursing
• ATCN

Key Responsibilities

• Perform age-appropriate assessments and deliver safe, effective care
• Triage patients using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) 5-level process
• Document patient care in a medically and legally acceptable ED record
• Coordinate care with providers, peers, ancillary departments, and outside agencies
• Prioritize care for multiple patients and support patient flow
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other parenteral fluids
• Respond to crises and emergency resuscitation needs
• Maintain equipment, supplies, checklists, and room readiness
• Participate in education for pre-hospital emergency providers and students
