Description

ICU Nurse

Location

  • Augusta, Georgia

Job Type

  • Travel/Contract

Contract Length

  • 16 weeks

Schedule

  • Night shift, 3x12 hours
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend
  • Floating required within the facility/scope of practice as needed
  • No call

Patient Population

  • Adults to geriatrics

Unit Overview

  • Medical Surgical ICU
  • 15 beds, 13 rooms, average daily census of 12
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2-3

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Georgia
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience with Epic

Clinical Experience / Skills

  • Sepsis and septic shock
  • Respiratory failure and pulmonary diseases
  • Cardiac arrest
  • GI bleed and hemorrhagic shock
  • DKA
  • Acute kidney disease
  • Complicated surgery cases
  • Pulmonary edema
  • Pulmonary embolus
  • Drug overdose
  • Hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia
  • Hypertensive emergencies
  • Cardiac arrhythmias
  • Rhabdomyolysis
  • Metabolic encephalopathy
  • Malignant neoplasms
  • CRRT
  • Targeted temperature management
  • Chest tubes
  • Bronchoscopies
  • Lumbar punctures
  • Incision and drainage procedures
  • Central line insertion assistance
  • Central line and arterial line maintenance
  • Peritoneal dialysis
  • Continuous bladder irrigations
  • Continuous IV infusions including pressors, paralytics, sedatives, and cardiac drips

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum requested time off: 7 days
  • Spring Break blackout dates: April 4-12
  • Full compliance is required to start on time
