Description

Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Location

  • Augusta, Georgia

Job Type

  • Travel/Contract

Shift

  • Evening, 3x12 hours
  • 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM

Contract Length

  • 14 weeks

Setting

  • Large, busy emergency department with high acuity
  • Non-trauma emergency department
  • Stroke and STEMI certified
  • 59-bed unit
  • Average daily census: 165–175 patients
  • Patient population: adolescents to geriatrics
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Georgia
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • 2 years of Emergency Department experience
  • Emergency Department experience within the last year
  • 3 or more completed travel assignments
  • BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NIHSS
  • Experience with Epic

Schedule Expectations

  • Every other weekend
  • Floating may be required within facility/scope of practice
  • One major holiday must be worked if it falls during the assignment; two major holidays require working both; three major holidays require working two

Compliance / Start Requirements

  • Full compliance required before start
  • Background check must be complete before start
  • Education verification required
  • Work history verification required
  • 2 clinical references required
  • Skills checklist required within 12 months and updated annually
  • Photo ID required
  • Physical exam required within 12 months of start
  • TB questionnaire required
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray required within 12 months of start
  • Drug screen required within 60 days of start
  • Flu vaccine or declination required
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation required
  • Tdap is strongly recommended

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are not accepted
  • Locals are accepted
  • Maximum requested time off: 7 days
  • Blackout dates: April 4–12
  • Navy blue scrubs required
