ICU Registered Nurse

Job Overview

• Location: Batavia, New York
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Weekend coverage: Every other weekend
• Float requirement: Yes, to med/surg
• Local candidates: Not accepted unless more than 75 miles away

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Driver's License
• Experience with Epic

Clinical Setting

• ICU role caring for a mixed adult population, including young adults through elderly patients
• Common patient needs include ventilator support, titratable drips, substance withdrawal, and post-op care
• Frequent diagnoses involve cardiac, respiratory, neurologic, and GI conditions

Procedures and Skills

• A-lines, central lines, intubations, chest tubes, and open abdomen care
• Glidescope use
• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Continuous IV sedation and paralytics
• Stroke care, dysrhythmia management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy

Additional Notes

• EPIC experience is required
• Scrub color: navy and/or white
