Job Overview

Required Qualifications

• Michigan RN license in hand
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• 2 years of ED experience

Assignment Details

• Trauma Level IV
• 14 beds and 2 trauma bays
• Fast Track with 3 designated rooms
• Separate triage area with 2 rooms
• Average daily volume: 40–60 patients
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3–4 during the day, with higher ratios at night
• 24/7 ED physician coverage
• 24/7 respiratory therapy support
• 24/7 phlebotomy
• No monitor techs; RNs read their own strips
• X-ray is down the hall and available 24/7; CT is nearby
• Inpatient floating required for helping hands

Scheduling and Work Expectations

• Manager creates the schedule
• Variable start times
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Call/standby is voluntary and unpaid
• Clock in and out at the facility

Orientation

• Computer-based training
• 2 days of floor orientation

• Travelers may triage after reviewing and understanding facility policies and procedures
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates within 80 miles are subject to a reduced rate
• Any solid-color, clean, professional scrubs are allowed
