CVICU Registered Nurse
Location
- Augusta, Georgia
Assignment Details
- Travel/contract role
- 14-week contract
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Adults to geriatrics patient population
- 10-bed cardiovascular ICU
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1–2
- Every other weekend
- Floating required within facility/scope of practice as needed
- No call required
- One major holiday required if it falls during the assignment; two required if two fall during the assignment; two of three required if three fall during the assignment
- Maximum requested time off: 7 days
- Spring Break blackout dates: April 4–12
- Locals accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- CVICU experience within the last year
- 2 years of CVICU experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Unit Highlights
- Cardiovascular ICU caring for patients with LVADs, balloon pumps, Swan catheters, temporary pacemakers, femoral and venous sheaths, arterial lines, TR bands, and CRRT
- Nurses titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and sedation for intubated patients
- Intensivist present Monday through Friday
- Multidisciplinary rounds held daily Monday through Friday at 10:00 AM
- Free charge nurse on the unit
Compliance and Onboarding
- Full compliance is required to start on time
- Background check must be complete before start
- Education verification is required
- Work history verification is required
- Skills checklist is required
- 2 clinical references are required
- Photo ID is required
- Physical exam is required
- TB questionnaire is required
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray is required
- Drug screen is required
- Flu vaccination or declination is required
- Color blind testing is required
- Code of conduct acknowledgement and dress/professional appearance policy review are required
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR are used on the unit
