ICU RN Travel/Contract Job

Overview

• Location: San Francisco, California
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 25 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night schedule
• Hours: 36 per week
• Schedule note: One 4-week schedule cycle may be either shift and may switch in a later cycle based on need
• Float requirement: Must be able to float to other departments and facilities, including ICU, ED, and PACU areas

Required Qualifications

• Valid California RN license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• AHA BLS
• AHA ACLS
• CVICU experience with 4 years of experience
• CVICU experience within the last year
• 1 year or less of total travel experience in the past 5 years
• ECMO experience within the last 6 months to 1 year
• Experience caring for ECMO patients as a bedside RN
• Experience caring for ECMO as primary responsibility without dedicated bedside perfusion support
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
• CCU - Coronary Care experience
• ECMO ICU experience
• Ability to independently manage complex critical care patients
• Strong interpersonal communication skills

• RTO should be added back to the end of the contract

• Simultaneous management of multiple support devices such as ECMO with CRRT, Impella, or IABP

Screening and Compliance

• Two supervisory references required
• Current resume with the last 7 years of work history required
• 7 years of work history must be verified and match the resume
• Unit-specific skills checklist required
• Background check required
• Drug screening required
• Physical exam required
• Fit mask testing required
• TB screening required
• Immunization/documentation requirements apply for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, tetanus/diphtheria/Tdap, and flu season documentation
• COVID vaccination is not required

Additional Notes

• Candidate must be able to work within a float pool model rather than a unit-based assignment
• Strong ECMO experience is important, but the role also emphasizes broader cardiovascular critical care, transplant, mechanical circulatory support, and multi-organ support competency
