Role Overview
ICU nurse role in a 30-bed neuro ICU and surgical ICU setting.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS
- DCI/BVP
- Driver's License
- CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) experience
- Experience assisting in bedside intubation and extubation procedures
- Experience assisting in central line placement
- Experience assisting in arterial line placement
- Experience assisting in chest tube insertion
- Experience assisting in thoracentesis procedures
- Experience assisting in TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography) procedures
- Experience assisting in cardioversion procedures
- Experience managing patients on BiPAP/AVAPS
- Experience with multiple oxygen delivery methods
- Experience with Epic
Schedule Expectations
- Works every other weekend and every other holiday
- If sick call occurs on a weekend, the following weekend is required
- Floating is expected
- No RTO during holidays
Preferred Experience
- Open heart experience, including CABG, valve surgeries, and AAA
- Comprehensive stroke experience, including EVD, thrombectomy, and TNK
- Experience managing patients on assist devices such as IABP and Impella
- Experience with CRRT (Prisma)
- Experience with prone positioning and initiation/maintenance of paralytics with TOF/BIS monitoring
