Labor and Delivery RN

Location: Mauston, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: Part-time, 2 twelve-hour night shifts per week; weekend rotation
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 32

Overview

Provides nursing care for maternal and newborn patients and may also cross-train to care for Med Surg/EICU patients when needed.

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
• AWHONN
• C-EFM

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS within 1 month of hire
• NRP within 6 months of hire
• ALSO within 1 year of hire
• STABLE within 1 year of hire
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 1 year of hire

Key Responsibilities

• Complete nursing histories, assess patients, and develop plans of care
• Triage patient care based on symptoms
• Administer medications
• Assess labor progression and manage induction of labor and cervical ripening
• Respond to obstetric emergencies
• Perform and interpret fetal heart monitoring
• Assess newborns, recognize higher-acuity needs, and monitor for adverse events
• Perform neonatal resuscitation within scope of practice and certification
• Recognize and manage neonatal sepsis
• Support patient education and communicate changes in patient status to the care team
