Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Nebraska
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Driver's License
- 1 year of unit experience
Unit Details
- Stepdown unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5
- Charge nurse on each shift
- CNAs available on the unit
- RNs must read and interpret telemetry strips
- RNs titrate drips
- Floating may be required to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care
Schedule Expectations
- Every other weekend
- Holidays as needed to meet unit needs
- Schedule is set by unit schedulers
Orientation
- First week in classroom, followed by 2 floor shifts
Additional Notes
- Driver’s license required at submittal
- Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas
- RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
- Candidates must live outside 50 miles and cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with certain affiliated facilities
