Neuro ICU RN
Location
Phoenix, Arizona
Contract
- 13 weeks
- Nights
- 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- 2 years of ICU experience in a large facility (450+ beds)
- Level 1 Trauma experience
- EVD experience
- Strong neuro assessment skills
- ICP monitoring experience
Experience Notes
- 18 months of Neuro ICU experience may be considered if the candidate has less than 2 years of experience in the specialty
- First-time travelers are welcome
Schedule / Work Expectations
- Weekly orientations on Mondays, except during holiday weeks
- May be placed on standby for a scheduled shift
- 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks
- Holidays are worked into the core staff rotation
- May float to MS Tele / Tele floors and possibly other ICU/MS/Tele areas
Unit Details
- 32-bed Neuro ICU
- 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Charge nurse does not take patients
- Ventilators available
- RT and pharmacy available 24/7
- Cerner EMR
- Phillips monitors
Additional Requirements / Conditions
- Must complete a dysrhythmia exam before acceptance
- Must pass a day 1 pass/fail exam
- SIMs Lab is required for most RNs and is pass/fail
- Cannot work another assignment/contract at the same time
- Must have been away from CommonSpirit for 12 months as permanent staff to be considered
- Must have their own vehicle if traveling as a team
- Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
- Men must be clean shaven for fit testing
- Onboarding must be complete by 1 pm CST on the Wednesday before start
- Candidates should be comfortable with teaching-hospital expectations, including nursing students
