Contract Length

• 15 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Day shift
• Every other weekend
• Minimum of 2 holidays during the contract
• Floating may be required to MedSurg or ICU to take PCU-acuity patients

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• 2 years of unit experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Competency in arterial lines
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Driver’s license required at submittal

Unit Details

• PCU
• Adult patient population with cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, respiratory, stroke, post-stent, post-pacer placement, and renal failure cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5
• Charge nurse is present and takes an assignment
• Nursing assistants/patient care techs are present at a ratio of 1:12
• High-flow respiratory equipment is used
• Common titratable drips include heparin, nitro, dopamine, Cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin

Additional Notes

• Must be flexible, adaptable, and a strong communicator
• Team-oriented and open to feedback
• Artificial nails are not allowed in patient care areas
• RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• If called back in, arrival is required within 30 minutes
• Navy blue scrubs required
