Schedule Details
- Variable start times between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM
- No evenings
- No weekends
- Call required: 1 shift per week and every 4th weekend
- Holidays are covered by call
Required Qualifications
- BLS certification
- COVID vaccination required
- At least 2 years of OR experience
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Cerner Surginet
- Experience with CV cases or robotic cases if applicable
Work Setting
- Main OR has 4 beds
- Pavilion has 8 beds
- Scrub techs are used
- Charge nurse does not take patients or cases
Orientation
- 1 week of paperwork orientation
- 1 week of partnered orientation with a preceptor
Case Mix
- Main OR: mostly orthopedic cases, including total hips, knees, and joints
- Pavilion: neuro, orthopedic spine, cardiovascular, general, gynecology, urology, and ENT cases
Additional Notes
- Scrub color is provided by the hospital
- Floating is not required
- 15–25 cases per day
- 400 cases per month
- 20–25% of cases are inpatient
- Anesthesiologists manage anesthesia; no CRNAs
- Critical patients go directly to ICU from the OR
