Registered Nurse

Overview

  • Location: Garrison, North Dakota
  • Setting: Long-term care / skilled nursing
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 12-hour day shifts

Required Qualifications

  • BLS certification
  • LTC experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as charge nurse
  • Pass medications
  • Perform wound care

Unit Details

  • 26-bed facility
  • Typical patient population includes heart disease, diabetes, and dementia
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:10 on days, 1:19 on nights
  • No IVs or titratable drips
  • No telemetry monitoring
  • No clinical involvement
  • No rehab beds

Schedule and Work Expectations

  • Every other weekend
  • Every other major holiday
  • No blocked scheduling
  • No self-scheduling
  • No call or standby
  • No floating

Orientation

  • 2–3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation

Additional Notes

  • Physician available by phone on call after hours
  • Oxygen equipment includes concentrators and portable concentrators
  • Pharmacy is off site
  • Scrubs must be clean and presentable
