Contract Length

Unit Overview

• Cardiac telemetry unit
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• 32 beds
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5–6

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience managing continuous IV cardiac medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin, Bumex, Lasix, Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin, and insulin drips
• Arrhythmia management experience
• Cardioversion experience

Clinical Experience Needed

• Arrhythmia management
• Cardioversion
• Cardiac CHF
• Chest pain
• Renal and pulmonary care, including COPD and pulmonary edema
• PE and DVT
• Stable A-fib, SVT, and bradycardia
• Surgical overflow care, including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, and biliary drains
• Vascular patients
• Post-cardiac cath care
• TR bands
• DKA
• Occasional ortho or CVA overflow
• Basic med-surg and arrhythmia knowledge

Work Setting Details

• Overflow IMCU
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• Call is rare; 2-hour response time
• Typically every other weekend
• Must work assigned major holidays during the contract
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract

Additional Notes

• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Epic is preferred
• Navy blue scrubs
• Full compliance is required before start
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
