PACU Registered Nurse
Location
Sacramento, California
Contract Length
17 weeks
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts
- Start times vary from 0500 to 0930
- Required call coverage includes weekend and weeknight shifts
- 30-minute call response time
- Floating may be required between Main and OPSC
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- PALS (AHA)
- Acute recovery experience
- Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
Unit Details
- PACU with 8 PACU beds and 7 pre-op beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1 or 1:2
- Charge nurse available
- No nurse aides
- No vents
- Hospitalist or intensivist in house
- IV team available if needed
- RT available 24/7
- Pharmacy available 24/7
Patient Population
- Total hips/knees
- General surgery
- daVinci
- Neuro
- Urology
Additional Information
- Cerner used for charting
- Scrubs provided
- Weekend coverage is call only
- Holidays rotate with core staff
- Orientation is 1–2 days in PACU with a preceptor
- Not a trauma hospital
- PACU may care for ICU patients until beds open up
