Operating Room Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Augusta, Georgia
- Day shift: 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
- 40 hours per week
- Contract length: 14 weeks
- Adults to geriatrics patient population
- First-time travelers accepted
- Locals accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- OR - Operating Room (1 year of experience)
- OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Work Setting
- Main OR covering general, neuro, spine, ortho, robotics, urology, vascular, and colorectal cases
- 16 rooms with average daily census of 35
- Epic and Pyxis used on the unit
- 2 DaVinci XI robots available
Schedule and Assignment Expectations
- Up to 7 days of requested time off allowed
- 2–3 weekends per 8-week schedule, either in-house or on call
- Call required: 7–8 calls per 8-week schedule, including 1 weekend call and 1–2 weekend shifts
- Also includes 2–3 weekday night call shifts during the same 8-week period
- Floating is rare but may occur within facility scope of practice
- Major holidays may be required depending on assignment timing
Compliance and Start Requirements
- Full compliance is required to start on time
- Background check must be complete before start
- Education verification is required and may be pending at start if proof it is in progress
- Photo ID required
- Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
- Verification of most recent employer required and may be pending at start with proof it is in progress
- 2 clinical references required
- Physical exam required within 12 months of start
- TB questionnaire required for all candidates
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray required within 12 months of start
- Drug screen required within 60 days of start
- Flu vaccine or declination required
- Color blind testing required
- Work history verification required
Additional Notes
- Scrub color is provided by the facility
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length
