Role Summary

Surgical technologist role supporting operative procedures under direct supervision of a surgeon.
Responsible for maintaining a safe operating room environment, handling instruments and supplies, assisting with sterile technique, and preparing the room and instruments for the next patient.
May help train new employees and students in the scrub tech role.
Not permitted to function as a circulating nurse, first assistant, administer medications, or complete patient records.

Required Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist with 3 years of experience
Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
NBSTSA certification
Trade or technical school certificate or diploma

Experience

At least 1 year of previous experience preferred

Clinical Skills

Proficiency in total joint, sports medicine, general, and ortho spine procedures

Additional Notes

Travelers living within 50 miles of the facility receive a lower rate
Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid
The assignment may be canceled up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract
