Scrub Tech

Location

  • Bangor, Maine

  • 40 hours per week

Role Summary

  • Surgical technologist role supporting operative procedures under direct supervision of a surgeon.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe operating room environment, handling instruments and supplies, assisting with sterile technique, and preparing the room and instruments for the next patient.
  • May help train new employees and students in the scrub tech role.
  • Not permitted to function as a circulating nurse, first assistant, administer medications, or complete patient records.

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Surgical Technologist with 3 years of experience
  • Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
  • NBSTSA certification
  • Trade or technical school certificate or diploma

Experience

  • At least 1 year of previous experience preferred

Clinical Skills

  • Proficiency in total joint, sports medicine, general, and ortho spine procedures

Additional Notes

  • Travelers living within 50 miles of the facility receive a lower rate
  • Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid
  • The assignment may be canceled up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract
