Registered Nurse — MedSurg Float
Location
- Bismarck, North Dakota
Contract Length

- Days, 12-hour shifts
Hours
- 48 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- BLS certification
- RN license
- Med-surg experience matching current unit needs
Unit Details
- Med-surg float unit
- 61 combined beds
- Patient ratio: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights
- Common patient types include surgical and medical patients such as total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, CHF, CVA, SOB, and diabetic issues
Responsibilities / Unit Expectations
- Does not require titrating drips
- No charge nurse or house supervisor role
- Floating required
- Telemetry present; monitor tech reads strips and RN confirms
- Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow
Schedule Requirements
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
- Call or standby may be required

- Unit-specific orientation includes travel CBO and a unit float checklist
