L&D / Postpartum Nurse
Location
- Oxnard, California
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- AWHONN fetal monitoring certification
- 2-3 years of experience in labor and delivery/postpartum
- Must be able to circulate for C-sections
- L&D nurses must have postpartum experience
Preferred
- Prior travel contract experience
- Willingness to take call
Unit Details
- Labor and delivery/postpartum unit
- 7 L&D beds
- 4 triage beds
- 2 overflow beds
- 27 postpartum beds
- 5-bed nursery
Clinical Notes
- High-risk deliveries
- Any gestational age
- EMT drop-offs
- Substance withdrawal cases
- No prenatal care cases
- Spanish-speaking patient population
- May float between labor and delivery, postpartum, and NICU within scope
Additional Information
- 3 shifts of floor-specific orientation
- C-section suites with recovery
- OB tech support available
- 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy coverage
- Optional call
- Navy scrubs
