Description

ER RN Travel Contract

Location

  • Silverdale, Washington

Job Type

  • Travel contract
  • 13 weeks
  • Nights, 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license for Washington or a compact license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • TNCC certification
  • PALS or ENPC certification
  • 2 full years of ER experience, or 1 year of experience in a larger trauma setting

Unit Details

  • Emergency department with approximately 56 beds, expanding to 60–70 with hall beds
  • Fast track area with 6 beds
  • Separate triage area
  • 18 inpatient hold beds within the ED
  • Locked hall with 6 private treatment rooms for psych/seclusion
  • In-house security
  • Approximately 170–200 patients per day
  • Typical ratios: 1:3, or 1:4 for low-acuity patients

Clinical Support

  • ED physicians and mid-levels available
  • Charge nurse and house supervisor available
  • ED techs and inpatient CNAs provide 1:1 sitters
  • Radiology is adjacent to the ED, with transport assistance as available
  • Nurse or ED tech primarily draws labs; lab assists when needed
  • RTs manage ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and other respiratory equipment, and complete ABGs
  • Telemetry monitoring is present

Scheduling and Expectations

  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend
  • Holidays: must work holidays in November and December
  • No call or standby requirement
  • No floating
  • Existing schedule patterns are built for traveler schedules
  • No RTO will be considered during the first full week of the assignment

Orientation

  • Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks
  • Expect 25+ hours total
  • Unit orientation includes 1 day of compliance/policy training and 1 day of department orientation

Dress Code

  • Any professional-colored scrubs
