Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• Start times may vary: 7a, 9a, 11a, 1p, 3p, or 7p
• Every other weekend
• Some holidays required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• PALS
• Driver’s license required at time of submittal
• 1 year of experience
• Behavioral health experience

Preferred Experience

• Existing traveler with 1–2 completed assignments
• Triage experience

Unit Details

• Emergency department with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Common patient types include stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, psychosis, and behavioral health
• Rare pediatric patients are treated and transferred
• Charge nurse may be used as an assignment role, especially at night
• RT is paged as needed; nurses may handle breathing treatments
• Nurses draw labs
• X-ray and CT are available in the department
• Security is in-house 24/7

Floating

• No routine floating
• May be required to float within the region if needed

Orientation

• One 12-hour shift with an experienced emergency department RN

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs

Parking

• Parking is paid by the traveler
• Garage parking is available with daily and monthly options
• Transit is an alternative
