Unit Details

• Primarily an adult surgical unit with a few pediatric patient beds
• May be required to float to other units

Schedule

• Every other weekend and holiday
• 12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Med Surg (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• NIHSS
• BLS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state practice laws
• Document care according to standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care, including patient and family instruction
• Participate in unit or department performance improvement activities and shared governance
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments as needed
• Use critical thinking to support patient safety and patient experience, and escalate appropriately
