Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Facility: Phoenix Children's Hospital
Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift (NOC) – 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Start Date: November 24, 2025
Assignment Length: 18 weeks (with possibility of extension)
Certification & License Requirements:
- Current State Respiratory Therapist License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (preferred)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (preferred)

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor respiratory status of pediatric patients.
- Administer airway management and ventilator support according to physician orders.
- Perform diagnostic tests including blood gases and pulmonary function tests.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient progress.
- Ensure all procedures adhere to hospital policies and safety standards.
What You Bring:
- Valid and current State Respiratory Therapist license.
- Minimum of 1 year of pediatric respiratory care experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to respond swiftly to emergencies.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate attitude.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
- Team player with a proactive approach to patient care.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
- Prior experience in a pediatric ICU or similar setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with pediatric ventilators and monitoring equipment.
