Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Facility: Phoenix Children's Hospital
Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift (NOC) – 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Start Date: November 24, 2025
Assignment Length: 18 weeks (with possibility of extension)

Certification & License Requirements:

  • Current State Respiratory Therapist License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (preferred)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and monitor respiratory status of pediatric patients.
  • Administer airway management and ventilator support according to physician orders.
  • Perform diagnostic tests including blood gases and pulmonary function tests.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient progress.
  • Ensure all procedures adhere to hospital policies and safety standards.

What You Bring:

  • Valid and current State Respiratory Therapist license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pediatric respiratory care experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to respond swiftly to emergencies.
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
  • Team player with a proactive approach to patient care.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Prior experience in a pediatric ICU or similar setting is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with pediatric ventilators and monitoring equipment.
