Facility: Overland Park Regional Medical Center KS
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (12-hour shift)
Start Date: October 27, 2025
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Certifications and Licenses (Required):
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts
- Registered or Certified RT with the NBRC
Job Description:
Join our dedicated healthcare team at Overland Park Regional Medical Center as a Respiratory Therapist specializing in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This critical role requires hands-on experience providing high-quality respiratory care to our most vulnerable patients. You will be responsible for managing ventilators, conducting breathing treatments, and assisting with neonatal intubation and oxygen management, all within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized respiratory care to NICU patients, including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and ABG analysis.
- Support critical and acute care procedures such as intubation assistance and non-invasive ventilation.
- Monitor patient responses and ensure proper functioning of ventilators and airways.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the Meditech EMR system.
What You Bring:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an acute hospital setting, specifically with NICU patients.
- Proven proficiency with ventilator operation, including Servo, GE, Drager, V60, EV300, and AIRVO HFNC systems.
- Ability to perform breathing treatments, interpret ABGs, and manage complex respiratory equipment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in emergency or high-pressure situations.
- Patient-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Team player with a positive, energetic attitude and strong communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Over one year of experience in a hospital NICU, PICU, or ED trauma setting.
- Experience with pediatric and neonatal ventilator management and advanced airway procedures.
- Familiarity with hospital protocols for critical care and emergency respiratory management.

- Location: 2nd Floor Tower B, Overland Park Regional Medical Center, 10500 Quivira Rd., Overland Park, KS 66215
- Schedule: Night shift, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, including weekends and holidays as needed. On-call duties are voluntary.
- Dress Code: Black Scrubs
- Unit Equipment: V60, EV300, GE, Servo, Drager ventilators, AIRVO HFNC
- EMR: Meditech
