Certifications and Licenses (Required):

• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered upon hire
• New York State registration or possess a limited permit to practice in New York upon hire
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified upon hire

Job Description:
Join Albany Medical Center as an MRI Technologist and become an integral part of a dynamic imaging team. Effective 1/11/2024, local candidates from ineligible counties are no longer being accepted. Under the guidance of the Medical Director, Section Head, and Radiologist, you will perform technical MRI procedures, assist in clinical evaluations, and provide compassionate patient care. Your expertise will help produce diagnostic images using state-of-the-art MRI modalities, ensuring a safe and positive experience for every patient.

As an MRI Technologist, you will practice in full compliance with hospital policies, New York State Department of Health regulations, and accreditation standards. You will support ongoing professional development by staying current with technological advancements and best practices, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

What You Bring:

• Education & Certification:

  • An Associate Degree in Applied Science or equivalent.
  • A Diploma in X-Ray or a vocational school diploma from an approved professional imaging program.
  • Valid ARRT certification and New York State registration or limited permit.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

• Experience & Skills:

  • Previous imaging experience is preferred but not required—training can be provided to the right candidate.
  • Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Strong understanding of patient care, especially for diverse age groups and patient needs.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety procedures, including enforcement of safety measures per New York State Department of Health Code Part 16.
  • Commitment to continuous learning as imaging technology evolves.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Prior experience working in a hospital or clinical setting involving MRI imaging.
• Certification in additional modalities or advanced imaging techniques is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
