CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered upon hire
• New York State Registration or Limited Permit to Practice upon hire
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified upon hire

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Medical Imaging Technologist, under the supervision of the Medical Director, Section Head, and Radiologist, is responsible for performing technical procedures and assisting in the clinical evaluation and care of patients. This role involves utilizing specialized modalities to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Technologists enforce radiation safety protocols in accordance with New York State Department of Health Code Part 16, particularly in radiation-producing modalities. They support ongoing education and professional development to stay current with technological advancements.

In addition, the technologist provides a positive, safe patient experience, practices in compliance with hospital and departmental policies, and adheres to all relevant state and accreditation standards. This position requires a commitment to competent imaging skills and delivering patient-centered care tailored to individuals' age and unique needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required:
• Associate Degree in Applied Science or equivalent
• Diploma in X-Ray technology
• Graduation from an approved vocational or professional imaging program
• Current ARRT registration or certification upon hire
• Valid New York State registration or limited permit upon hire
• American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire

• Preferred:
• Previous experience in medical imaging (helpful but not mandatory)
• Demonstrated competence in practicing modality or modalities
• Comfort working across diverse patient populations, providing compassionate, safe care
