Job Title: Sonographer I
Facility: Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital
Shift: Rotating – 8x5s, 40 hours per week
Assignment Length: 13.0 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
 

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

• ARDMS (Abdomen) — ARDMS (must be obtained within approximately 3 months of employment)
• ARDMS (OB/GYN) — ARDMS (must be obtained within approximately 3 months)
• ARDMS (RVT) — ARDMS (must be obtained within approximately 3 months)
• ARRT (VS) — ARRT (must be obtained within approximately 3 months)
• CCI (RVS) — CCI (must be obtained within approximately 3 months)
• ARDMS (RDCS-AE - Adult Echo) — ARDMS (must be obtained within 18 months unless exempted by leadership)
• CCI (RCS) — CCI (must be obtained within 18 months unless exempted)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers — AHA (must be completed within 6 months of start date)

EDUCATION

• Completion of an accredited or approved Sonography program.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Proficiency in performing high-quality general and vascular ultrasound examinations.
• Strong clinical judgment to distinguish normal vs. pathological findings accurately.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and safe patient-care practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and care teams.
• Ability to follow departmental policies, organizational procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Strong prioritization, time-management, and multitasking skills.
• Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to adapt to changing departmental needs.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Certification in multiple sonographic specialties (Abdomen, OB/GYN, RVT, Adult Echo) is highly desired.
• Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting performing general and vascular ultrasounds is advantageous but not required.
