Weekly Stipend: $1,247.92
Weekly Taxable Pay: $1,887.24
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (Resource Team requirements)
- RRT or CRT certification
- North Carolina Licensure
JOB DESCRIPTION
Join our dynamic team as a Respiratory Therapist at Atrium Health Pineville, a leading healthcare facility located at 10628 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC. This role involves providing critical respiratory care to a diverse adult patient population, including NICU (non-pediatric). No accommodations will be considered for travelers taking time off during Thanksgiving or Christmas.
This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with over 300 patient visits daily. You will be expected to float between various facilities within Region 2, including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and others within the CMC system. The role includes working on all floor therapies, critical care, CVICU, NICU, ED, and progressive care units.
You will be supported by respiratory care leadership and staff, utilizing advanced equipment like servo ventilators, Trilogy, ResMed AirCurve, HiFlow, Airvo, NOXbox, and bubble CPAP, in a state-of-the-art EPIC electronic medical record system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional respiratory therapy to adult and NICU patients.
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced ventilation and oxygen delivery equipment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
- Float between designated facilities within the region, maintaining flexibility and professionalism.
- Adhere to departmental policies, protocols, and safety standards.
- Work scheduled shifts, including every other weekend, with no mandatory call.
- Cover 75% of holidays; schedule includes 2 winter and 2 summer holidays (negotiable).
- Manage patient care efficiently during 12-hour night shifts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a critical or acute care setting.
- Experience in adult care, NICU, CVICU, ED, and progressive care units preferred.
- Proficiency with critical care equipment and all-floor therapies.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments via floating.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related healthcare field.
- Prior travel therapy experience is a plus but not required.
- Demonstrated excellence in patient care within high-volume hospital settings.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and perform in fast-paced environments.
