Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Facility: Advocate Southeast
Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM / 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
Start Date: 02/02/2026
Assignment Length: 13 Days (ends 02/05/2026)
Position Overview:
Join Advocate Southeast as a dedicated Respiratory Therapist on a short-term assignment designed to deliver exceptional patient care in a dynamic, teaching hospital environment. You will provide comprehensive respiratory care to a diverse patient population across multiple departments, ensuring optimal outcomes for neonates, pediatric, and adult patients.

- Chest Pain Center and Certified Stroke Center

Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory treatments and interventions to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients throughout the facility.
- Operate and manage ventilators, including IPPV/NIPPV, with proficiency.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including respiratory leadership, to tailor patient care plans.
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Float within designated departments such as ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and General Med Floors to meet department staffing needs.
- Contribute to patient safety and clinical excellence during each shift.
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and maintain current licenses and certifications.
What You Bring:
- A minimum of 2 years of professional respiratory therapy experience within a hospital setting, with competency in ventilator management (IPPV/NIPPV).
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) in North Carolina.
- Valid NIC licensure.
- Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NRP certifications (Resource Team requirements).
- Strong clinical skills in Neonatal, Pediatric, and Adult respiratory care.
- Experience working in various units including ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and General Med Floors.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and float confidently within assigned departments.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or formal education in respiratory therapy preferred.
- Previous experience in a teaching hospital or Level 1 trauma center is highly desirable.
- Experience with EPIC EMR system is a plus.
Certifications & Licenses:
- North Carolina Respiratory Licensure (RRT or CRT)
- Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NRP certifications

Additional Details:
- No floating to other facilities due to specialty needs.
- Free parking provided onsite.
- Must wear royal blue scrubs.
- Residents work approximately 75% of holidays, with scheduling accommodations available.
- Up to 6 days off for RTO (must be scheduled at contract start).
- Schedule cycle every 6 weeks.
