Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health to support the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP).

The RN will provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients experiencing psychiatric and behavioral health emergencies. The ideal candidate should have strong assessment, crisis-management, communication, and patient-care skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced psychiatric emergency setting.

Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with psychiatric and behavioral health emergencies.
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patients for changes in mental and physical condition.
Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
Administer medications safely and monitor patients for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
Assist with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and management of behavioral emergencies.
Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses in the electronic medical record.
Monitor patients for changes in behavior, mood, mental status, and overall condition.
Support admission, transfer, discharge, and care-coordination processes.
Follow hospital policies, behavioral health protocols, and patient-safety standards.
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible to practice in New York.
Minimum 1 year of RN experience, preferably in Behavioral Health, Psychiatric Emergency, Emergency Department, or a related setting.
Strong clinical assessment and patient-monitoring skills.
Experience with psychiatric/behavioral health patients and crisis situations preferred.
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work the required 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM night shift.
