Job Summary
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to provide care for laboring, antepartum, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients in a high-volume teaching hospital environment.
The primary focus is high-risk Labor & Delivery, including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, fetal monitoring, newborn care, triage, and high-risk antepartum/postpartum care.
Key Responsibilities
•Provide direct nursing care to Labor & Delivery and high-risk obstetric patients.
•Manage labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
•Assist with high-risk vaginal deliveries and C-sections.
•Circulate for C-sections as assigned.
•Perform fetal monitoring, including external and internal monitoring.
•Perform obstetric triage and sterile vaginal examinations.
•Manage high-risk antepartum/postpartum patients.
•Administer and manage medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Terbutaline, and antihypertensives.
•Care for patients with pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa/abruption, preterm labor, PROM, multiple gestation, and VBAC.
•Provide newborn care, APGAR assessment, and neonatal resuscitation.
•Assist with IUPC and FSE placement and monitoring.
•Manage postpartum hemorrhage and other obstetric emergencies.
•Provide IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood administration, and pain management.
•Rotate through L&D, C-section/OR, Baby RN, Triage, and High-Risk Antepartum/Postpartum.
Required Qualifications
•Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience.
•First-time travelers accepted with a minimum of 3 years L&D RN experience.
•High-Risk Antepartum experience required.
•Teaching hospital experience preferred.
•Strong experience with high-risk deliveries and fetal monitoring.
•Active California RN license required at time of submission.
•Pending or temporary CA licenses are not accepted.
Required Certifications
•BLS
•ACLS
•NRP
Preferred: AWHONN Advanced
