Description
Position/Specialty: Registered Nurse / IMC / IICU (Intermediate Intensive Care)
Years of Experience Req: Required at least 1 completed travel assignment and 2 yrs of RN experience. Previous IICU/ICU exp. with acuity of at least 1:3 is required.
Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: ALL requests must be included with the submission. Requests will only be accommodated if approved by the facility at the time of booking.
Call off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes. 3 years’ experience within specialty required for 1st time travelers *MUST HAVE CRITICAL CARE EXP.
Locals Accepted? Radius Rule: Yes. Refer to the Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria.
Pending License Accepted? No. Must have an active SC or multistate license.
Required Certifications: ACLS / BLS / NIHSS
Ratios: 1:3
Patient Population & Unit Details: Adult patients include trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases requiring monitoring or interventions every 1–2 hours. The unit receives direct admissions, ICU transfers, and escalations from Rapid Response Teams. Special equipment available includes Hercules patient re-positioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps.
Summary of Required Skills: Clinicians must be proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring. Experience in ICU or IICU required. Based on acuity of the unit Progressive care settings such as PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown will be considered. Medication management skills must include titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Ventilator experience is required.
Floating: While Prisma Health prioritizes keeping staff in their home unit, agency staff are required to float to other units or campuses as needed. Floating is limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies.
Charting: 1 yr of EPIC experience required
