RN | Intermediate Care Unit

MVHS Inc. | Utica, NY | Nov 30, 2026 – Feb 27, 2027 | 13 Weeks | Day Shift

Seeking an experienced Intermediate Care RN for a 64-bed IMCU providing care to adult patients with complex medical, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, trauma, and post-operative conditions.

Position Highlights:

• 36 hours/week guaranteed
• 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
• Floating required
• Block scheduling not guaranteed
• Epic EMR
• Navy blue scrubs
• Local and travel candidates accepted
• 75-mile radius rule applies
• Candidates residing within 75 miles are considered local and will receive local consideration
• 64-bed IMCU with 15 designated Neuro beds
• No on-call requirement
• Prior travel experience required

Key Duties:

• Provide nursing care to adult patients in the Intermediate Care Unit
• Care for patients with neurological, cardiac, trauma, respiratory, and post-operative conditions
• Manage patients with COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, and cardiovascular step-down needs
• Monitor and manage temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, and BiPAP
• Care for patients requiring chronic ventilator support with respiratory therapy assistance
• Monitor complex patient conditions and recognize changes in clinical status
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments according to patient needs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
• Float to other appropriate units as required

Requirements:

✔ 2+ years of recent IMCU/PCU RN experience
✔ Travel experience required
✔ Active New York RN license
✔ Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
✔ Epic experience required
✔ Current RN licenses must be verifiable through Nursys
✔ Updated resume documenting IMCU/PCU experience and travel experience
✔ Specialty-matched skills checklist
✔ Driver’s license with address matching demographics
✔ RTO must be provided at submission
✔ 75-mile radius rule: Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are considered local

Patterns Hiring Job ID #1826-0925. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
