"Travel RN – Flex Pool | Night Shift | Hilo, HI

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Flex Pool assignment supporting multiple medical and surgical units in a hospital setting.

Assignment Details:
Location: Hilo, HI
Shift: Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Schedule: 36 hours/week after orientation
Engagement Type: Travel contract
Key Responsibilities:
Provide patient care using the nursing process across assigned units
Float between medical and surgical departments based on staffing needs
Monitor patient conditions and respond to clinical changes
Administer medications and treatments per protocol
Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care
Clinical Scope:
Units include:
Medical Unit (77 beds)
Surgical Acute (Laulima – 18 beds)
Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds, occasional float)
Nurse-to-patient ratios:
Medical: 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
Surgical: 1:6
Cardiovascular: 1:4
Equipment: Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes
Requirements (Must-Have):
Active Hawaii RN License (required by start date)
BLS Certification
2+ years of recent RN experience
Preferred:
ACLS Certification
Additional certifications: PALS, TNCC, ENPC, Procedural Sedation
Floating: Required across multiple units
Scheduling: 12-hour night shifts; no guaranteed hours
Orientation: Unit-specific orientation provided
Work Environment: Acute care hospital setting
Dress Code: Clean, professional scrubs
Compliance: Proof of immunity required; background check and drug screening required"

Patterns Hiring Job ID #295270. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
